Island Lake Recreation Area
This beautifully scenic 4000-acre park is located in Livingston County. It’s a great way to get some wonderful northern scenery while staying within Michigan. Swimming, camping, and even hot air balloons are part of this area’s bountiful charm!
Historic
Witch’s Hat Depot Museum
This fun attraction located in South Lyon MI was given its name thanks to a very distinct roofline. The building was actually moved from its original location and reinstalled as a bicentennial event. It now serves as the focal point for the historic village! The museum is open from 1-4pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Village
Aside from the Witch’s Hat Depot Museum, the entire historic village is definitely worth checking out. There are attractions for those of all ages, and it’s a picturesque spot for weddings and other events. Some of the main points of interest include a caboose, freight house, school, and chapel.
Third Monk Brewing Company
The Third Monk Brewing Company is a local brewery with some great options on tap! A great spot to stop by and catch a breather during the warm summer months. Age permitting of course! As of 6/24/19 here is the local selection.

Also, be sure to look into The 22nd Annual Michigan Brewers Guild’s Summer Beer Festival. Held on the banks of the Huron River, this beer lovers dream is something to look forward to.
Moose Ridge Golf Course
A very scenic spot to swing some clubs this summer! Take part in the rolling, lush design with fellow golfers. Great for players of all skill levels, Moose Ridge Golf Course is beautiful and also features a great clubhouse to host parties in! An awesome course for those of all ages!
